The WA B Grade Golf Croquet Singles Championship



The 2017 B Grade Golf Croquet Singles Championship was held at Geraldton Croquet Club over the weekend 7/8th January 2017.  Pictured above l-r Rhonda Reynolds (Geraldton), Owen Keane (East Fremantle), in background Kay Chynoweth (Geraldton)  joint competition manager, Pamela Kerr (Geraldton), Margaret Stokes (Geraldton), Geoff Longshaw (Como), Paul Dodson (Geraldton) joint competition manager at rear, John Doepel (Forrest Park, Mt Lawley), Paul Christmass, (Geraldton) partly obscured, Joan Doepel (Forrest Park, Mt Lawley) Peter James (Gosnells), Joyce Carbone (Como), John Boucher (Busselton), Ruth Shave (Geraldton) and Peter Clift (Geraldton).

The competition was run as a round robin event where each competitor played every other entrant. At the end of the round robin series the results was as follows:

In an all-Geraldton final Paul Christmass defeated Peter Clift in a thrilling game. Congratulations Paul. Well done all! Everyone enjoyed a great weekend of croquet in Geraldton

During the Sunday lunch break Competition Co-Manager Kay Chynoweth took the opportunity to present Paul Christmass with the C Grade Golf Croquet trophy which he won last year. (picture below left) Kay also presented Paul's award for most improved male  golf croquet player in Western Australia, also won in 2016 and shown below at right.

Kay (right below) also took the opportunity to present Paul Dodson (left below) with the B grade Golf Croquet Country Weekend singles trophy for 2016 season.




 Congratulations to our visitors and special thanks to the Geraldton Croquet Club members who freely gave their time and effort to prepare the courts,. arrange meals and perform the many tasks needed in order to have a smooth running competition. Well done all!
